Consultancy Commission Opportunity | Heritage Skills Training Development Consultant

Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust is seeking an experienced Heritage Skills Training Developer Consultant to play an exciting role in developing a programme of accredited and non-accredited training for the Heritage Skills Centre of Excellence in South Yorkshire, which is due to open in 2028.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new centre focused on developing heritage skills, supporting training and employment opportunities, and contributing to the future sustainability of the heritage sector.

The Commission

  • Contract: Initial 12-month consultancy
  • Commitment: 3–4 days per week
  • Contract value: £40,000 for Year 1
  • Potential: Possibility of further extension
  • Closing date for applications: 17 August 2026

We are looking for an individual with relevant experience in heritage skills, training development and/or education who can bring expertise, creativity and a practical approach to the development and delivery of the Centre’s training offer.

Your tender proposal should include the following supporting information:

A. CV
Your current CV, including relevant professional qualifications and accreditations.

B. Relevant Experience
Details of comparable projects you have undertaken, including dates and contact details for referees who can provide references.

C. Project Approach & Methodology
A description of how you propose to approach and deliver the required outputs and scope of work.

D. Project Management
Details of how you will manage the work, including your proposed approach to project planning, communication, reporting and meeting key milestones.

E. Fixed Fee
Your proposed fixed-sum fee for the full scope of work, inclusive of travel and any other expenses.

F. Additional Work
Your daily fee rate for any additional work that may be required beyond the agreed scope, together with confirmation of whether this rate includes travel and other expenses.

G. Professional Indemnity Insurance
Confirmation that you hold professional indemnity insurance with a minimum level of cover of £500,000.
