Current Tender and Commission Opportunities:

Big House | Short Films: An Interactive Film Festival | Short Film Commission

Calling Young Creatives Aged 16-25! We’re inviting film enthusiasts and storytellers aged 16-25 in and around Rotherham to submit an idea for a short film exploring what heritage means to you.

Heritage can mean different things to different people – a family tradition, a local landmark, a song, a recipe, a ritual, or even a community story. We want to hear your voice.

Selected films will be showcased at Big House | Short Films: An Interactive Film Festival – a film festival celebrating fresh perspectives and local stories held at Wentworth Woodhouse in November 2025. This opportunity is open to everyone, whether you’re an aspiring filmmaker, hobbyist, or first-timer. You can film on your phone or on a camera, solo or with friends.

Submission Deadline: 23rd August 2025
Notification of Selected Films: 25th August 2025

Perception Busters is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to work with young people to learn film making skills and produce films busting heritage myths. Big House | Short Films is part of the Children’s Capital of Culture festival year and is funded by Children’s Capital of Culture UK shared prosperity funding.

Creative Producers | Seasonal Events

We are inviting proposals from experienced and visionary Creative Producers and artists to lead the design and delivery of our major seasonal events. Organisations and artists can bid for one or more of our available tenders.

Having successfully delivered several in-house festivals and events, we are now seeking to elevate our offer both in terms of creativity and scale, aligning ourselves with the vision in the Cultural Strategy.
