Current Tender and Commission Opportunities:
Funding Opportunity | Boys’ Mental Health | Rotherham
We’re inviting artists, creatives, cultural organisations and community groups based in South Yorkshire to apply for the Creative Health: Boys’ Mental Health Grant Programme. There is £25,000 available in two grants of £12,500 to deliver creative health projects in Rotherham:
- One project with Year 6 boys (ages 10–11)
- One project with Year 9 boys (ages 13–14)
The programme supports creative, hands-on activities that help boys explore mental health, build relationships, and will share key mental health messaging. The sessions will be co-delivered with With Me In Mind. We’re interested in ideas involving:
Visual or performing arts, crafts, film, literature, cooking, nature-based work, gardening, physical or sporting activities – and other creative approaches.
What the boys told With Me In Mind that they want:
- Time to build trust and relationships
- Creative, interactive and physical sessions
- Outdoor or alternative spaces
- Side-by-side activities (less pressure, less eye contact)
- Boys-only groups
Delivery details:
- 8 weekly sessions (2 hours each) during Spring Term
- Groups of 12–15 boys
- Supported by With Me In Mind mental health practitioners
- Sessions can take place in schools or alternative creative/outdoor spaces
- Projects should end with a meaningful takeaway for participants
This programme is part of Children’s Capital of Culture and is funded by Arts Council England Place Partnership, led locally by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, with Wentworth Woodhouse leading the Creative Health strand.
Closing date: Saturday 31st January, 5.00pm
