Open Gardens

So much awaits when you book an Open Gardens day.

Every Wednesday to Sunday, head to Wentworth Woodhouse to discover a wildflower meadow, ancient trees, shaded woodland copses and a spectacular summer herbaceous border in full bloom.

Find 18th century follies and monuments, picnic on the lawns, or follow a visitor’s route which begins with a trip through the Stables to the Mulberry Garden, where an outdoor piano is waiting to be played.
Children can enjoy games on the West Lawns, tumble down Roly Poly Hill and explore the Barefoot Garden.

Don’t miss the sweeping views from the Ha-Ha and South Terrace, and be sure to head to the Ionic Temple and Camellia House.

There’s an arty theme too, with sculptures by renowned artists to discover and art workshops for The Flock, a spectacular art installation happening this autumn.
The Flock’s 10,000 hand-painted wooden birds will take over the East Front lawns – a moving communal artwork recording your feelings on the Covid-19 pandemic.

Book one of our picnics, visit the pop-up outdoor gift shop and al fresco tearoom – and bring your dog too!

Garden admission tickets can be booked online or bought at the Stables gate (contactless payments only).

Gardens open at 10am and close at 6pm, with last entry at 5pm, Wednesday to Sunday.

Visitors enter the site in 30-minute time-slots to avoid queues and maintain safe social distancing. Toilets and hand washing facilities are on site.
