At Wentworth Woodhouse, Christmas is never the same story twice. Every year, a new tale, a new transformation, a new memory waiting to be made.

This winter, Wentworth Woodhouse opens its doors to an icy fairy tale. From the 2nd of December to the 4th of January 2026, the House will be transformed into The Snow Queen’s icy kingdom. A shimmering world of frosted roses, mirrored halls, and golden carriages.

Over the past few years, our grand rooms have retold a new winter’s tale. For 2025, we invite you to step into the story of The Snow Queen. Read on to find out how Culture Creative, the team behind 5-star experiences at Blenheim Palace, will be bringing this tale to life…

The Story So Far

Christmas at Wentworth has become a tradition of transformation:

  • In 2023, A Tale as Old as Time was brought to life beneath glittering chandeliers.
  • In 2024, ’Twas the Night Before Christmas unfolded across the house, where stockings were hung and festive wonder filled every corner.

Each year, thousands of visitors join us, and tickets sell quickly. With families, couples, and friends all coming together to make Wentworth Woodhouse part of their Christmas story.

What Awaits in 2025…

This year, winter itself takes centre stage as The Snow Queen transforms Wentworth Woodhouse into a glittering world of frost and fairy tale wonder.

Visitors will follow Gerda’s journey to rescue her friend Kay, moving from enchanted gardens and princely chambers to darker robber’s dens and, finally, the icy palace of the Snow Queen herself. Each room explores a different chapter of the tale, showing the State Rooms in a whole new light.

The story will be told across 13 unique spaces in the House. Each with its own enchanting soundscape, dazzling lighting and immersive set design. You’ll see polar bears in the Pillared Hall, reindeer in the Marble Saloon and icy light projections will adorn a glittering throne in the State Dining Room. It’s a spectacle we can’t wait to share with you.

Bringing this vision to life are Culture Creative, a creative project and production management company based in the North East of England. Specialised in running events in historic environments, Culture Creative’s experienced lighting and production teams regularly work both indoors in heritage properties across the country, and outdoors in botanical gardens worldwide. These include 5-star indoor experiences at Blenheim Palace, installed annually as part of their Christmas event each year.

This year marks their first collaboration with Wentworth Woodhouse, and their reputation for transforming heritage sites into living storybooks ensures that The Snow Queen will be one of the most selfie-worthy and atmospheric events we have ever staged.
