The Volunteer Digital Team at Wentworth Woodhouse is one of our great successes and we’re incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved. Formed in the autumn of 2020, the team was originally made up of members from our existing teams of volunteers who were working in the House & Gardens.

Founder members of the team brought with them an impressive range of existing skills, such as researching, writing, presenting and photography, but none had experience in the creation of video content. The Trust commissioned a comprehensive training programme covering skills such as lighting, camerawork, sound recording, writing for screen and editing. Much of this training had to be completed during various periods of lockdown during 2020/21.

In April 2021, the very first video created by the new team was released on the Wentworth Woodhouse YouTube Channel. Since then, the team have released over 300 videos covering a huge range of stories about the work and history of Wentworth Woodhouse – you can see a selection of them here, or in the Butler’s Pantry Café at the House.

The Volunteer Digital Team has grown since it was formed in 2020. We’re delighted to have welcomed many new members, including several young people who have been attracted to Wentworth Woodhouse through our various digital programmes. The team is now 25 in number with ages ranging from 20 to 70+ and they release new video content every week.
