We are delighted to announce we won the Business Community Impact Award and were Highly Commended in the Sustainability Award category at the Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce Business Awards on Friday 3rd November 2023.

The Business Community Impact Award (sponsored by Rotherham Together Partnership) recognised Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust as an organisation which demonstrated an innovative, collaborative and proactive approach to corporate social responsibility and responsible business practice.

Judge Angie McIntyre, of Rotherham Together Partnership said:

I’ve really enjoyed judging the Business Community Impact Award and seeing the huge contribution local businesses are making to our communities. This ranges from efforts to improve skills and raise aspirations, to delivering cultural events and activities that enable people to live happy, healthy lives.

Congratulations to our winner, Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust. As part of the ongoing work to restore and regenerate Wentworth Woodhouse, the Preservation Trust is doing fabulous community engagement work and offering work placements for young people. Its heritage-inspired programmes provide enriching experiences, help to remove barriers to culture, enable people to gain skills and open up opportunities and new career paths. The Trust has a real focus on equality, working with people with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ+ community and those from ethnic minority backgrounds.”

We are so grateful for the continued support and recognition that helps us do the work that we do here at Wentworth Woodhouse.
