Wednesday 1st October | Temporary House Closure

The House will be temporarily closed on Weds 1st October for the set-up of a private event. The Gardens, Butler’s Pantry Café and Gift Shop remain open as usual. Hague Lane also remains closed for roadworks – please allow extra time for your journeys.

Here at Wentworth Woodhouse, we are working hard to make our visitor experience accessible for all as we develop and regenerate the site.

Feeling spooky? Join us on All Hallows Eve in the historic Library Lounge with team members, Mark Barthrop and Neil Power, as they share their eerie first-hand paranormal accounts of things that go bump in the night at the Big House – including real video and audio footage captured within the House and Stables. Bring your own paranormal tales – if you dare… Need to steady your nerves? The bar will be open throughout.

Accessibility

Due to the age and nature of the House, some areas are only accessible via stairs and there are some uneven surfaces. A temporary lift (available until 31 December 2025) provides access to the first-floor State Rooms and exhibition space for visitors with mobility impairments.
