Four friends held a post-wedding hen do…
When friends were looking to choose a location for jewellery specialist Helen Dimmick’s post-wedding ‘hen-do’, they knew it had to be a gem.
Helen got married during the pandemic and hadn’t been able to meet up with her South Yorkshire ‘hens’. One of them, Jill White, figured Rotherham stately home Wentworth Woodhouse would be the perfect place. She hired one of the mansion’s two gorgeous wooden cabins, which are hidden in secluded spots in the gardens, as their base for the day.
Helen and her friends, all businesswomen, wanted a day to relax together and the Wood Lark cabin proved the perfect retreat for morning coffee and Helen’s wedding cake before a tour of the mansion. Afterwards their wildflower meadow home-from-home was also the ideal place for champagne sipping, sushi nibbling and admiring gemologist Helen’s wedding photos. Helen, Jill of Andy Hanselman Consulting, solicitor Jay Bhayani of Bhayani Law and accountant Vickie Clarke Brown of Custom Solar in Chesterfield also enjoyed leisurely walks around the mansion’s stunning private gardens.
“We had a wonderful day,” said Jill. “Helen loves architecture and history – I’m sure she lived a previous life somewhere like Wentworth – and she adored the house. The cabin was a little luxury, the icing on the cake during a perfect day together to celebrate Helen’s wedding. It was beautifully positioned, private, warm and cosy and we loved our Wentworth Woodhouse deckchairs outside!”
