Since the late 16th century, gardening has been an important activity at Wentworth Woodhouse and the passion for the gardens continue to this day.
The pleasure gardens which sit within the 80 acres surrounding the house, are entering into an exciting new phase.
A restoration plan has begun on the wonderful garden features at Wentworth Woodhouse; long lost historic vistas throughout the garden and landscape, will be reinstated and a programme of new planting will be incorporated into this magnificent garden. Many delights await the visitors to Wentworth Woodhouse: an intertwining network of paths, take in our fine and varied collections of Rhododendron and Azaleas, which complement our diverse range of trees and shrubs.
Seasonal highlights in the garden include, the new winter woodland walk, where gardens are transformed by a sea of snowdrops, early summer sees the Rhododendrons burst into colour and mid summer, heralds the blooming of the secluded herbaceous border.
Take time on your visit to enjoy the sumptuous views from the meadow, of the elegant baroque mansion and enjoy unparalleled panoramic views, from the imposing 1500ft south Terrace.
