Yes, although sometimes the house is closed for specific functions including weddings and filming.
We are currently open for pre-booked guided tours on specified days so you do need to book in advance of visiting.
From 1 April 2019, the house will be open five days a week to drop in to our visitor reception, tea room and shop. We will be open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am-4pm.
Is photography allowed inside Wentworth Woodhouse?
Yes, we allow internal and external photography but not for commercial use.
Is Wentworth Woodhouse a National Trust or English Heritage property?
No, we are owned by the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust, although we receive help and support from the National Trust, and in return we can offer National Trust members (for England and Wales) a 50% discount on specified tours.
Is Wentworth Woodhouse accessible to wheelchair and mobility scooter users?
We have a disabled access ramp into the ground floor of the house. Our tours do visit upper floors. We are working with our partners to look at ways to bring greater accessibility to the house, but this will take some time. Our masterplan details how we plan to make the house more accessible, including installing lifts to the upper floors.
Is there parking on site?
Yes, we have free parking on site which is signposted and is approximately 300 yards from the house.
Is there a café / restaurant on site?
Yes, we have a tea room in the house where you can buy drinks, sandwiches, cakes, soup and jacket potatoes. Afternoon tea can be pre-booked. The tea room is currently only open on days we have tours, but from 1 April 2019 will be open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am-4pm.
May we picnic in the grounds?
Yes, but please ensure that this is only on the grass opposite the parking area.

Are dogs allowed at Wentworth Woodhouse?
Dogs can be walked through the surrounding grounds, as long as they are kept on leads at all times. Assistance dogs only are allowed in the house and garden.
We have plans to open a dog-friendly area in the indoor tea room soon.
